The Western University/FIRST Engineering Scholarship is awarded annually to a student entering full-time undergraduate studies in the Faculty of Engineering who has participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition Team (FRC) in high school.
This award is available to students in their final year of high school, who have been active on a FIRST Robotics Competition team (FRC) who are applying to Engineering at Western University. Applicants do not need to be Canadian citizens.
The scholarship will be awarded through the regular admissions process to the Faculty of Engineering at Western University. The candidate must meet the admissions requirements to Engineering at Western and must submit a one page statement to the Faculty of Engineering by April 30 outlining their participation and role on a FIRST Robotics team including how the experience was formative in inspiring them to pursue an engineering education. A reference letter from a teacher or another adult involved with the FIRST team may accompany the application.
Representatives involved with the Robotics Engineering competition in the Faculty of Engineering will select the recipient. This award is supported through the Faculty of Engineering.
