Open The Door Scholarship Program
Description
The goal of the “Open The Door” scholarship is to provide the deserving student-athletes of Thorold, Ontario with accessibility, opportunity to pursue a post-secondary education and financial aid. It is our mission that by removing these financial barriers, students will be able to excel in their fields of study and use their hard work and ambition to focus on achieving success. To give back to our hometown, The City of Thorold, we are committed to providing up to CAD$10,000 annually up to four years to 1 female and 1 male student athlete, who have been a resident of Thorold for at least 2 years. It is our hope that these students will use this opportunity to achieve their greatest potential and pay it forward to better their community and the next generation of students.

Eligibility
In order to be eligible to receive this scholarship the applicant must fulfil the
following requirements:
- Be a resident of Thorold, Ontario, Canada for a minimum of two calendar
years. - Submit an acceptance letter from an accredited post-secondary institution
within Canada for a full-time degree seeking program. - Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or athletic coach
demonstrating their sportsmanship effort, diligent competition, and academic dedication. - Submit their high school transcript.
Application
Download a copy of the application form and fill it in with all necessary details. The application form should also be accompanied by the following:

A letter of recommendation from a teacher or athletic coach.

A true copy of the applicant’s high school transcript.

Acceptance letter from an accredited post-secondary institution within Canada for a full-time degree-seeking program.

Judging
Applicants may be required to participate in an interview with the selection committee during the week of May 15, 2023.
