The Atila Team did some research on what Canadian Universities are the best for getting a job at Tech, Consulting, Investment Banking and Biomedical Companies.

We used data from LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Levels.fyi, h1bdata.info and some other sources.

We found some really interesting information.

Here’s some of them:

  1. Why does Waterloo perform so well at getting students into tech companies but so few of them are in upper level management positions. Is there a “Canadian Glass ceiling effect” for Canadians at American companies?

  2. In consulting the “target school” effect is real. See the big gap between the top 5 "target schools" and the other schools.

  3. In investment banking, when you look at Canadian banks U of T is the top, but if you restrict it to American banks like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan etc. McGill is at the top. Why the difference?

  4. McMaster did not finish in top 5 for the other industries, but performed very well for the biomedical industry. Most other schools performed similarly across all 4 industries. Why is that?
